" I see babies after they are born and sometimes (as you all know) they can be pretty stressed and tight.
I have a vision of a birthing center next to a chiropractic, therapy/integration wellness center. This would provide comprehensive support for moms, families, children, and babies."
Dr. Lucia speaks about her own pregnancy and the surprise breech birth of her child:
"I had one child, breech vaginally. I would not let them do an ultrasound so I escaped the knife."
"The real reason I did not do an ultrasound is that the research shows
it is experimental and has never been proven safe. It also does not
calculate the due date any more accurate than the math from your last
period. And, who cares anyway, babies come when they are ready.
The
second real reason was, I trusted my intuition. Several times a day I
would sit quietly and visualized my baby and how he was doing. I always
knew his cord was not around his neck and he was ok. I did have a
dream that he was born on the hospital lawn and was put sitting with
his legs up in a metal bowl after he was born! In reality, he was born
one hour after the parking ticket was stamped. It was the hospital
staff who got riled, I was calm and knew it would be ok.
This was before I knew of the Webster technique.
Now I am certified in it. I also address all levels of support,
including homebirth as being a significantly safer
alternative."
