I
do do Webster technique, and I usually do adjust full spine with it as
well. I believe, and have seen the best results, when you take the
whole spine into consideration. I have a hard time knowing someone has
a subluxation that needs to be adjusted and leaving it alone. I do
look at the pubic bones and the occiput a lot of times when it comes to
in uterine constraint, but every patient is different. I find it has a
lot to do with all the things that you preach as well. I tell mom to
move around. Sit on a ball, do inversion, get off of the recliner,
etc... Most of the patients that I use Webster on are not breech but
are slightly off center, but you know what I mean. I see lots of moms
that are 37-39 weeks and not feeling any "dropping" in the baby or I
palpate and feel the baby is up in the pelvis instead of descending or
posterior. I LOVE to see moms from the early weeks of pregnancy to
prevent this issues as well. I start doing the "Webster Technique"
very early on. I see better results that way.
I
do use Nimmo Receptor Tonus Technique which simply put is a trigger
point therapy. I also work on the round ligaments obviously. I do
pelvic musculature stretching when needed, etc... I also do do some
craniosacral work, and diaphragm release work.
Treatment for
newborn care is totally dependent on if there are any serious issues
going on. I feel it is very important to get babies checked within
their first few days of life. If it is pretty routine and I don't find
serious issues then I usually like to see a newborn within the first
few days, and maybe a week follow up. If still ok, then I like to
check at 3 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months. Unless
there are any issues along the way. I educate the parents the signs
that they should look for. Such as... frequent colds, ear issues,
excessive crying, difficulties nursing, excessive spitting up, head
preference, etc...
I
do have my diplomate in pediatrics which is any additional three years
of training in pediatrics and obstetrics related to chiropractic. I
feel very comfortable treating pregnant women and children. Have seen
LOTS of both, and enjoy it very much.
